1892 to 1916 Barber Quarters The Barber Quarter was designed by Charles E. Barber, and is also referred to as the Liberty Head Quarter. There are 3 key dates, 1896-S, 1901-S and the 1913-S. The quarter hubs were changed in 1892 to allow the coins to stack better, and both the obverse and reverse were redesigned in 1900 because the coins were to thin.
