1932 to 1964 Washington Quarters

Washington Quarter The Washington quarter was intended to be a commemorative issue for the 200th anniversary of president Washington's birth. It was designed by John Flanagan.

From 1932 to 1964 the quarters were 90% silver. From 1975 to 1976 the quarter had a design change to the "Bicentennial quarter", with the date on the obverse being 1776-1976 and the reverse featuring a colonial drummer with a torch circled by 13 stars.
